THE HANSEN FILES, DIARY OF A P.I.:

Call me "Jim". My family and friends call me "Jim". I prefer "Jim". In the army I was called "HANSEN", came at me like a shot, a bark, a command. Young secretaries in the hospitals and medical school where I earned my living called me "Mr. Hansen". Gave me the chills. Too many bad memories. I prefer "Jim".

Now that I'm retired I spend my time collecting visual evidence on the mystery of my life. My tools now are digicams, computers, CNN, the Internet and old B&W negs from my early '70s days wandering the streets of St. John's. My thoughts, bumper stickers on the flippin' rolodex of my mind, the clues are piling up, information overload. Been at this paper game for over 50 years.

So far it's been a crapshoot, no answers, just more confusion. Suspicions that my case is unsolvable, out of my grasp. The trail is growing cold. I'm tired, may have to quit and watch my garden grow, play with my grandchildren. The images are confidential, for your eyes only, a few recovered pages* from "The Confessions of a Private Eye".

* The pages are fiction, any resemblance to persons & places, living or dead, is pure coincidence.
